Essentials of Soft-Tissue Injury

This course provides an introduction to orthopedic assessment concepts through the examination of the various soft tissues and how they are most commonly injured. Effective assessment skills are based on a sound understanding of how most soft-tissues function in health as well as in a pathological state.

Essentials of Assessment

The emphasis of this course is the assessment protocol known as HOPRS, which stands for History, Observation, Palpation, Range-of-Motion and Resistance Testing, and Special tests. The components and process for this model are explained in Chapter 3 of Orthopedic Assessment in Massage Therapy.
